+ What is Le Foyer?

Le Foyer provides budget and social accommodation with a focus on quality and privacy, as best described on lonely planet: we are hostelly hotel. That's why all of our rooms are privates. We are a hostel in terms of the common areas and social spaces and a relaxed atmosphere where guests can mingle and meet each other, such as the TV room, rooftop, patio and balcony.

+ What is your contact number?

+ Is the breakfast included?

Yes! We offer a free full American breakfast (traditional Arequipa bread, eggs, jams & butter, fruit juice, tea and coffee). Which is served from 7:00 am until 9:00 am in our rooftop every morning.

+ Are the bathrooms mixed or single?

The bathrooms are mixed.

+ Is there a curfew?

There is no curfew. You can come and go at any time, and the reception is open 24h.

+ Is it true it is very noisy?

Our area is lively, it is very convenient and close to the main attractions, to the best restaurants and the vibrant part of the city. The counterpart is that it can get noisy on weekends. The levels of perceived noise change from person to person but usually our guests say that a pair of earbuds solve the problem (we have them on reception if you need them). If you are a light sleeper, we recommend the rooms inside the courtyard and not the balcony rooms nor the dorms.

+ What are you doing about the noise?

We are actively doing things to reduce the levels of noise from many angles. Thanks to all the comments and formal complaints, we have achieved to have the noise source monitored, and the bar across the street now have to reduce their noise decibels. Moreover, the rooms have isolation with rubber, we have tried many different isolation methods, and this one looks like the one most likely to reduce the impact. We have put extra street lights to prevent people from staying close to the property in the late hours.

+ Can I have friends / family visiting me in the hotel?

Yes, you can bring friends and family to the common areas and rooms, but they are not allowed to stay over. For security reasons ID might be required and guests would have to register in reception.

+ Do I need to bring a sleeping bag / bedding?

No, you don’t! Bedding (linen) and towels are included. And, it is forbidden to use sleeping bags on the beds.

+ Do you offer luggage storage?

Yes! We have free luggage storage for the days you may be visiting the Colca Canyon. Also, if you arrive early than check-in or if you leave later than check-out, we can store your luggage.

+ Do you know about any good tours / activities?

Yes! We run a tour desk in the reception where you can get bookings for tours in Arequipa, tours in Colca Canyon, around the city and rafting on the Chili River. We have curated the best tours and companies that aim at quality, customer experience and sustainable tourism. You can pay when you book at reception, or you can book them online at any time. We also can recommend places for your visit and the best spots where to have food and drinks. We are in the middle of the action, so there will always be something interesting to do.

+ What happens if I do not show up?

If you do not show up for check-in, we will cancel your booking, charge you according to the cancellation policies from the site you booked from and refund you any further money that you might have paid in advance.

+ Where is the Le Foyer Arequipa located?

Le Foyer Arequipa is located at 114 Calle Ugarte, Arequipa, Arequipa - Peru. We are just two blocks from the main square, north through San Francisco Street. For directions about how to get here, please refer to the instructions in the ‘How do I get to Le Foyer Arequipa’ section further down.

+ Where is the Le Foyer Colca located?

Le Foyer Colca is located at 403 Calle Mismi, Yanque, Arequipa - Peru. We are just three blocks from Yanque's main square, on the way to Uyo Uyo. For directions about how to get here, please refer to the instructions in the ‘How do I Get to Le Foyer Colca’ section further down.

+ Do you do pick-ups from the airport?

Yes! We provide transfer service from the airport, at an additional fee of PEN 30 to Le Foyer Arequipa and PEN 250 to Le Foyer Colca for up to 4 people. If you would like to book this service, please write to us at reservas@hlefoyer.com with the following details:

+ How do I get to Le Foyer Arequipa?

The easiest way to come from the airport or the bus station is with a taxi. If you are coming from the airport, you can book a transfer with us. Unfortunately, we cannot provide transfer service from the bus station due to the random arrival times. If you are coming from the bus station you can take a taxi from inside the bus station, the ones with photo-check. You must tell them that you have your confirmed reservation and that we are two blocks from the Plaza de Armas. On the corner of Calle San Francisco with Ugarte. We recommend you using google maps even in offline mode, taxi drivers are known to taking guests to a different Ugarte Street in another district called Yanahuara.

Please beware: Some taxi drivers may want to take you to other hotels that pay them a commission for bringing tourists by saying we are full or no good at all. If you booked with us in advance, your room is going to be there waiting for you! And if you didn't book, no worries, we always have a place for the spontaneous travellers! Don't let them mislead you.

+ How do I get to Le Foyer Colca?

If you are driving:

  • You can find us on Waze or Google Maps, coming from Arequipa you will pass first Chivay and 10 minutes after you'll be arriving in Yanque. Our location is three blocks from the Main Square of Yanque, over Calle Mismi.

If you are coming by yourself:

  • Take a van to Chivay. Two companies bring people to Chivay: "Transportes Centella" and "Transportes Caminos del Inca" nearby Arequipa's bus terminal. Once in Chivay, take a taxi, call us or take a shared van to Yanque from the bus terminal.
  • Take a bus to Yanque. Two companies do a direct transfer from Arequipa's bus terminal: "Reyna" and "Milagros". The ride takes about 4 hours to get to the Main Plaza of Yanque.

+ What time is check-in?

Any time after 12 pm.

+ What time is check-out?

At Le Foyer Arequipa it is at any time before 11 am. At Le Foyer Colca it is at any time before 10 am.

+ Can I leave my bags at the hotel?

Yes! You can leave your luggage with us free of charge on the day of check-out or check-in and while you are visiting the Colca Canyon or other tours outside the city.

+ Can I check-in late at night?

Yes! If you have a reservation, you can check-in when you like. Our reception is open 24 hours a day. If you are planning to do so, please send us an email at reservas@hlefoyer.com.

+ Can I check-in without an ID?

No, we never let anyone from anywhere check-in without presenting a valid ID document. Valid documents are a passport (for all travellers) or a national ID card (for Peruvian travellers only).

+ Do you accept walk-in bookings?

Yes, we accept walk-in bookings. However, it is always best to book or call us in advance to avoid any problems.

+ Where can I find the lowest prices?

You will always find the lowest prices and the best deals here on our booking app.

+ How safe is it to book on your website?

All bookings made through Le Foyer website and our booking engine use secure encryption. Our booking engine is PCI compliant, and the website and booking engines have SSL certificates. These ensure that every credit card and all personal details remain secure and safe.

+ Do you charge my card if I book online?

We don't charge it immediately, and might not do it at all. If you book via our website or any other channel like Booking.com, HostelWorld or Expedia.com, we validate your credit card details with a pre-authorisation. In some cases, we charge the first night when the cancellation policies allow it.

In case of non-refundable bookings: yes we do, as this kind of bookings have to be collected in advance and they don't allow changes or modifications.

Booking directly with us means you get the cheapest rates available and the most flexible cancellation policy.

+ How can I pay?

You can pay in cash using Soles or US Dollars. If your booking is in Dollars and you have Soles, we will use the exchange rate of the day.

You can also pay with credit or debit card such as Visa or MasterCard. To be able to offer the best possible price we haven't included the cost of the card operator, a 5% fee may be charged when you pay by card.

+ Can I pay in Soles / Dollars?

We accept payments in Soles and Dollars. If you booked in Dollars and want to pay in Soles, we will use the exchange rate of the day.

+ Do you accept cheques?

No. We don’t accept cheques.

+ What can I do if I want to extend my stay?

It’s easy! If you want to extend your stay, just come to reception before 11:00 am (check-out time) and pay for your new night(s), this is subject to availability. We will try to book you in the same room to make your stay more comfortable, but this cannot be guaranteed. Please note that stays over two weeks are subject to management discretion.

+ Do you accommodate groups?

Yes, sure we do! Please get in touch via reservas@hlefoyer.com

+ Can I change my booking?

If you got a standard rate booking, yes, you can. Just remember to do so before the cancellation policy time. In case of non-refundable rates and within your cancellation policy time, it is not possible to do so free of charge.

+ Can I cancel my booking?

Depending on where you booked our cancellation policies vary. If you book on our website, you get the most flexible cancellation policy available online. In any case, failure to cancel within the time agreed will result in a cancellation fee accepted on the website where you booked.

+ Can I make future bookings after I arrive?

Yes, you can! Our reception staff will easily extend your stay if there is still availability.
